VHAC and SA Archery State Field Championships

In the beginning... laying down the rules!

Graham Potts was no sooner back from the heat of Western Australia, when he found himself in similar conditions when shooting in the SA Archery State Field Championships, held on Sunday 12th November. The Eden Hills Archers, based in the Shepherds Hill Recreation Park were host club for this event.

A total of 65 archers from various clubs around South Australia competed in this Field course including 4 from the Victor Harbor Archery Club - Callan Ineson, Kerren Black, Graham Potts and Fred Brehin.

Despite the heat, competition and rivalry amid the groups as they moved through the 24 target course, was light-hearted and all were determined in making this a fun event!

Graham Potts - yellow eyes!

Kerren receiving her winning medal.

Final scores for our Victor Harbor archers were:

  • 20 & under: Callan Ineson - 2nd

  • Open Female Compound: Kerren Black - 1st

  • Open Male Compound: Graham Potts - 2nd and Fred Brehin 8th.

It was good to see Attila Balla [VHAC adopted son] out there amongst the Field crowd. It appears the Pat's Archery cap is very popular and above are a few of the heads that carry the cap!

A great result for VHAC - congratulations again for 'being there' chaps and coming up with such good results and to Kerren for her medal win. Thank you also to Eden Hills Archers for being such gracious and helpful hosts.
