VHAC continues to Impress- latest competition update.

The Max Manuel Memorial Archery Tournament is named after a member of the Adelaide Archery Club [1951-1975] and who is amongst Archery South Australia’s Hall of Fame members.

This Tournament was held at Mylor Oval on 18th March 2018 and several Victor Harbor Archery Club members participated in the competition with some great results. This Tournament is a World Archery event attracting our best South Australian archers.

Callan Ineson was 1st in the 20 and Under Male Compound Division with a score of 1279. Callan has claim to a Compound FITA Star award for scoring over 1200 points and a Bronze All Gold at 70 metres Performance Award. Nicely done Callan.

Graham Potts [VHAC President] also performed well amongst very able opposition, coming in 3rd place in Open Male Compound Division. Graham also achieved a Compound FITA Star for reaching 1200 points as well as Bronze All Gold at 30m x 4 and a Bronze Perfect Score at 30m x 1 - a great effort from Graham.

Sherry Gale, now shooting in the Compound Female Veteran Division came 1st and has added a few more performance awards to an already well-stocked collection. Sherry has claim to an Australian Star for her score over 1350, together with Bronze All Gold at 30m x 6, Bronze All Gold at 20m x 6 and a Bronze Perfect Score at 20m x 6. Very well done Sherry.

The Max Manuel Tournament was closely followed by the Lord’s Mayor Trophy Shoot held last Sunday 25th March 2018. Victor Harbor Archery Club had three representatives forming a team of three – Graham Potts, Callan Ineson and Rhiannon Mills. VHAC won this trophy last year and for 2018 came in second after giving the winning team from Eden Hills Archers a close battle, falling short by 5 points.

The year has just begun but already we are seeing some great competition results from the Victor Harbor Archery Club.
