Beginners in Archery 2020

Andrew Bowering, Graham Potts and Jhye Jones

Having survived the end of year celebrations and a wee break in archery, the Victor Harbor Archery Club is back for the 2020 archery season with not only running it's normal activities but also preparing for the big events [Easton Open, NMS Finals, Olympic Trials] coming up in February - but more about that later.

Our first beginners of the year - Andrew Bowering and Jhye Jones - were presented with their certificates [at the Indoor venue in the Port Elliot Showgrounds] on Wednesday 5th February. President Graham Potts was as pleased as the recipients, to give out the certificates. Both archers seem very keen with Andrew already joining VHAC and using his new equipment at last Wednesdays Indoor shoot.

The image of the happy trio above, was taken in front of club's newest sponsor's 'See Optometry' banner. "See Optometry is a locally operated optometry practice located in beautiful Victor Harbor. Martin, Stef and the team pride themselves on maintaining the highest clinical standard, providing a top quality service to the local area and beyond." VHAC is grateful for their support and recommend their services highly.

2020 has also seen the introduction of a target practise session, held every Sunday morning from 10am to 12md at the Back Valley shooting grounds. Stephen Howard has kindly donated his time to open the grounds and supervise the session. This is a non-competitive shoot, providing an opportunity for archers to refine their skills without the pressure of competition. Archers attending must register as normal and a gold coin donation will cover line fees.
