VHAC - competitions, medals, certificates

Making up for lost time, the Victor Harbor Archery Club is embracing and celebrating efforts made by its members - both old and new.

The 'Beginners Course' has been busy and last Wednesday night, certificates were presented to two new happy archers - Sana Razzak and Adam Gibbs. Adam is actually returning to archery after a slight hiatus and shoots recurve. Congratulations to both.

On Wednesday night young intermediate shooter Declan Bagnell was also presented with three medals - Perfect in the WA Indoor 18m and AA 40/720 and All Gold in the AA 50/720. Declan has been outstanding in recent months and is sure to be a force to be reckoned with in the future. Donna Johnson, another new member to VHAC also achieved an All Gold shooting an AA 30/720 but unfortunately was not present when these awards were presented.

Archery SA has continued to hold State events, On the 13th September, Great Southern Archers hosted the State Field event. Graham Potts came in 2nd in Master Male Compound and Joel Signorelli 5th in the Open Male Compound. Well done to both VHAC archers.

Next up was the Matchplay event on 27th September at Mylor oval. It was held as an Open event and VHAC archers Graham Potts and Rhiannon Mills came in 4th and 8th respectively. Congratulations and well done to all our archers competing in these two events.

'Back to Archery' State Tournament has begun and will continue until mid December when final scores are tallied. VHAC has registered for all the next five Saturdays allocated for holding the shoot. Saturday the 10th October will be week 2 with week 3 - Saturday 24th October, week 4 - Saturday 7th November, week 5 - Saturday 21st November and week 6 Saturday - 12th December.

On a lighter note, Veteran + female recurve archer Lydia Strutton managed a XXX score at the club indoor shoot a couple of weeks ago. Lydia has been struggling to find form this year so this rare score was most welcome.
